French for the Future
Celebrate French at the 2025 Forum for Grades 7–9
March 18 2025 • French for the Future Local Forum – University of Calgary
Calling all Grade 7 to 9 students enrolled in French programs: you’re invited to an exciting day-long celebration of French language and culture at the University of Calgary. Over 250 students are expected to join—so yes, it’s going to be a party of bilingual energy and opportunity.
What’s in store:
Inspiring keynote from Hughie Batherson, a motivational speaker who turned his own anglophone-to-francophone journey into stories of humour and bilingual success.
Two engaging workshops where students can explore French culture, meet peers, and stretch their skills.
Lunch with exhibitor tables offering insights into the bilingual lifestyle—education, career, travel—yes, French can lead there.
A closing performance by 2Moods (Dan Dennis Ndala) bringing music, motion and French vocab together.
Why this matters for our community at Springbank:
It’s a golden opportunity for our early immersion students to see where their French journey could lead—beyond the classroom.
It strengthens the connection between our kiddos and the broader Francophone-bilingual community in Alberta.
It aligns perfectly with our mission: “Join us as we grow a bilingual future, together.”
